I Need Someone To Talk To
They say that i have a bubble in my spine which is causing nerve pain.
Yeah, they tried some stuff but it didn't work, so I'm basically living off of narcotics now.
Hi QuinnyR, Im a long time pain sufferer. My diagnoses is definately not like yours but we share one symptom, pain.
You are so young to be experiencing so much pain but with that, I think you can overcome your disability as well. In my middle 30s, I got very interested in Eskrima, a phillipino martial art. You basically spar with two/one rattan sticks, hand to hand, and gradually move to boa, knives and swords. Im female and gender does not apply when you develop your skill level.
The reason Im telling you this is because the instuctor has had his back broken in several areas but that did not stop him from teaching and sparring with his students. Perhaps this is something you can look into or another hobby that will strengthen your body as well as your mind/spirit?
Thanks W Fox, It's help to know that there are people who get the whole pain thing especially since my friends really don't get it. I've tried getting into martial arts (boxing mainly) it's just hard finding times when I'm not doped up on pain pills or in excruciating pain plus my mom doesn't let me fight while I'm sick. The things that have really saved me are photography, drawing in my sketch book, and music. I love classic rock,
QuinnyR,
Sorry you are in so much pain, which believe me, I understand completely. I don't have the same symptoms as you, but pain is a daily in my life. I try to find things that I like to do to get my mind off of the pain. Recently I decided to go to college, figured that was something I always wanted to do, and something to get my mind on something else. I have also started reading novels again, hoping the same effect will come.
Right now, nothing is working, but I think I will stick with it and see. You never know what might help ease the mind. Nothing will totally get rid of the pain, but if the mind is a little more at east it might help.
Sending my thoughts and prayers your way!
If you ever need to talk, I am just a keyboard away!
I've been trying to do the same, keeping busy with home work and art. I just had surgery on my leg (for something totally different) so I'm kinda stuck in bed for awhile.
I think It's great that your going to college! Good luck with it. I hope you feel better!
Your in my thoughts.
QuinnyR,
Hope your leg is doing good and you are healing quickly. I feel that with all the pain, we have to do something that we enjoy and hopefully it gets our mind off the pain, even just for a few minutes.
College is going good, just finished my first class. Passed with an A, so onto the next!
I recently went to see my doctor about the pain management and she put me on Oxycontin. I have been sleeping better, but the days are still bad, since I sit all day at work, its killing me. Nights are a little better, I sleep good, when I sleep. Just need to get this hip from hurting so I can sleep on that side, every time I roll over on that side it wakes me up from the pain.
Guess it is just one day at a time.
Hope your doing better, sending my thoughts and prayers!
I'm happy for you that collage is going well, nice job on the A. Sucks that you have to be on Oxycontin but it's good that is helping you sleep. My doctor put me on Oxycodone, I have to take it every 8 hours, but it's. I agree that staying busy and occupied helps. I just started doing school again myself. the meds are working to the point where a lot of days i can focus on the school work my high school gives me (I do all my work form home).
Taking one day at a time sounds like a good plan.
Feel better, good luck w/your next class. Your in my thoughts and prayers.

what do the doctors say it is?
I was about to do something awesome again, but I told myself, "Enough is enough! That's plenty of awesome for one day."
"They say that marriage is about making two lives into one... nobody told me that meant we both would end up becoming HIM"
